Flip Stopwatch

Laps

  1. No laps yet — press Lap while running.

A stopwatch that reads like a scoreboard

Press Start and the flip cards count up in hours, minutes and seconds, with hundredths ticking above the display for close finishes. Space starts and pauses, R resets, and Lap drops a timestamp into the list without stopping the clock. Each lap shows its total time, newest first, so you can compare splits during intervals, lab runs or practice questions. Clear the list between rounds and start fresh in one click.

Built to stay correct

Elapsed time is computed from the system clock each frame, so switching tabs or minimizing the browser does not lose milliseconds. The tab title mirrors the running time, which helps when the stopwatch lives on a second screen. For night meets or dark classrooms, turn on OLED night mode in Settings — it dims the stage and nudges it every minute to protect the panel. Laps live only while the page stays open, so copy split times before leaving.

Good uses people actually keep it open for

Track sets in the gym, splits on the track, or tea that needs exactly four minutes. Students time past papers with it because count-up pressure feels lighter than a countdown. Presenters rehearse talks against it, then check the lap list to see which section ran long. Project it fullscreen with F for group drills — the whole room can read the cards — and clear laps between rounds with one link. Like every tool here, it runs locally with no account, so your times never leave the browser. Coaches keep a second window open for notes while the cards run untouched.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make the flip clock full screen?

Press F on your keyboard or use the Fullscreen button in Settings to make the flip clock full screen. The cards expand to fill your monitor edge to edge, controls fade away, and pressing Esc or F again exits. It works on Windows, Mac, Chromebooks and tablets. Combine fullscreen with Hide controls and Keep screen awake for a clean desk display, classroom projector or overnight bedside clock without dimming.

Will the screen stay on while the clock is running?

Yes, your screen can stay on while the clock runs if you enable Keep screen awake in Settings. It uses the browser Wake Lock API to block dimming and sleep during desk displays, classroom projection, overnight use or long timers. The lock releases when you close the tab or toggle it off. If your browser does not support Wake Lock, also set your system sleep to never for the same effect.

Does the flip clock work offline?

Yes, the flip clock works offline after your first visit. The site installs a lightweight service worker that caches the app shell, so reopening the page without Wi-Fi still shows the clock, timer, stopwatch and Pomodoro. Time comes from your device clock, not the network, so it stays correct. Reconnect once to pick up updates. Note that world-zone daylight-saving rules rely on your system data when offline.

Is my data stored or uploaded anywhere?

No, your data is never stored on a server or uploaded anywhere. This flip clock runs entirely in your browser, with preferences, pinned zones, Pomodoro counts and photo themes kept only in your device localStorage. No account, tracking profile or cloud sync exists. Clearing site data removes everything. You can verify this by blocking network access after load — all tools except fresh updates keep working fully offline.
