Flip Clock Pomodoro

Completed today: 0

The classic 25 and 5, without the app

The Pomodoro Technique — named for Francesco Cirillo's tomato kitchen timer in the 1980s — is simple: focus for 25 minutes, rest for 5, and take a longer 15-minute break every fourth round. This flip clock pomodoro ships with exactly that, and every number is editable. Prefer 50/10 for writing or 90/20 for code? Type it in. The flip display shows minutes and seconds large enough to read from a desk away.

Auto-cycle so you do not watch the clock

Leave auto-cycle on and the timer walks itself through focus, short break and long break, chiming softly at each switch and flashing the tab title. Your completed focus sessions tally under the clock and persist on this device, which makes a quiet daily scoreboard. Space pauses, Skip jumps a phase when a meeting ends early, and the Focus/Short/Long tabs let you start any phase by hand. Switching to fullscreen hides every distraction except the cards.

Making focused blocks stick

Put the timer in fullscreen with F, hide the controls, and keep only the cards visible. Silence notifications for one cycle at a time rather than the whole afternoon. If 25 minutes feels long at first, drop focus to 15 and build up — consistency beats heroic sessions. Timing runs against the system clock, so background tabs stay accurate, and your session count never leaves this browser: no login, no sync, nothing to clear. Students often stack three morning sessions before lunch, then check the tally to plan the afternoon. Breaks are real breaks: stand, water, window, then back. Chimes stay soft by design, with volume following your timer chime choice.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use this flip clock as a Pomodoro or study timer?

Yes, you can use this site as a Pomodoro and study timer without leaving the flip style. Open the Pomodoro page for classic 25-minute focus with 5-minute breaks and auto-cycling long breaks, all editable. Use the Timer page for custom countdowns like 50/10 study blocks, with chime, flashing title and notifications. Both stay accurate in background tabs and read clearly in fullscreen from across the room.

How do I make the flip clock full screen?

Press F on your keyboard or use the Fullscreen button in Settings to make the flip clock full screen. The cards expand to fill your monitor edge to edge, controls fade away, and pressing Esc or F again exits. It works on Windows, Mac, Chromebooks and tablets. Combine fullscreen with Hide controls and Keep screen awake for a clean desk display, classroom projector or overnight bedside clock without dimming.

Will the screen stay on while the clock is running?

Yes, your screen can stay on while the clock runs if you enable Keep screen awake in Settings. It uses the browser Wake Lock API to block dimming and sleep during desk displays, classroom projection, overnight use or long timers. The lock releases when you close the tab or toggle it off. If your browser does not support Wake Lock, also set your system sleep to never for the same effect.

Is my data stored or uploaded anywhere?

No, your data is never stored on a server or uploaded anywhere. This flip clock runs entirely in your browser, with preferences, pinned zones, Pomodoro counts and photo themes kept only in your device localStorage. No account, tracking profile or cloud sync exists. Clearing site data removes everything. You can verify this by blocking network access after load — all tools except fresh updates keep working fully offline.
